This was my first performance in front of a large crowd. I combined my largest painting to date with a controvertial edit of one of my favourite songs "All In My Head" by Tori Kelly. The conventions I was challenging were those of a standard acoustic break up song with a catchy melody. Utilising elements of surprise and humour, I played with the idea of allowing my message to become interwoven and somewhat hidden. The jilted lover protagonist singing displays signs of cognitive dissonance as they are constantly refusing to accept reality, therefore I wanted to cause the audience to become unsettled at first with my seemingly random interjections of lyrics. When I got to the bridge of the song by that point most of the audience had became aware that I had a message to convey.
